On October 9–11, 2024, the lecturers and researchers from the Centre for Social Welfare of Kolping HEI, Vytautas Kirka, Vitalija Mikutaitienė, Evelina Darulienė, Rasa Kirkaitė, Dr Ramunė Bagdonaitė-Stelmokienė and Dr Vida Lukamskienė, actively participated in the international scientific congress “Between Preservation and Transformation, Reinventing our World”, which took place at the Catholic University of Lille (Université Catholique de Lille), France.
Before the opening of the Congress on October 9, a meeting of the European Research Institute for Social Work (ERIS) members was also organised to discuss the annual activities, events, projects, and other relevant issues.
The meeting was followed by the opening of the Congress section “Between Crises and Transitions: for a Complex Approach to Societal Transformations”, organised by ERIS and the Catholic University of Lille. We are pleased that among the presentations prepared by renowned European scientists, the participants had the opportunity to listen to Assoc. Prof. Dr Vida Lukamskienė’s impactful presentation “Supporting the Personal Independence of People with Disabilities as a Prerequisite for their Successful Employment”.
It is wonderful that this visit not only strengthened the partnership with the Universities of Lille and Ostrava but also enabled the sharing of the research results. The discussions with experts from all over the world covered a wide range of topics, from the latest advancements in social work to the challenges faced by people with disabilities in the workplace, providing a rich and diverse learning experience for all involved.
