The Kolping HEI Representatives’ Visit to Poland

From 17 to 19 June 2024, Kolping HEI lecturers Kristina Karosevičienė and Vytautas Kirka visited the University of Łódź, Faculty of Education, as part of the prestigious Erasmus+ programme. This programme, known for promoting international cooperation in education, allowed them to deliver lectures to students of social work. The lectures not only focused on the care system in Lithuania, compared to the Polish system, but also discussed human rights in social work. Students gave various examples of problems in the care system, such as juvenile delinquency, which were analysed in detail during the lectures. Moreover, other ways of support were discussed, including social and therapeutic assistance. The importance of social workers knowing the leading human rights instruments and being able to apply them in practice was discussed in more detail.
