During the implementation of the “Erasmus+” project KA121-ADU (Project No 2022-1-LT01-KA121-ADU-000060391), on 22–23 May 2023, KUAS lecturer Jurgita Dambrauskienė travelled to Vienna, Austria for a work observation visit.
The project goals are related to educating elderly (50+) people: improving their digital, linguistic, and other skills. The institutions of “Kolping Österreich” and the Kolping co-living house “Gemeinsam leben” were visited. Not only do they run social and educational projects, but they also implement various educational trainings for the elderly with efforts to include them in the labour market. Conditions to learn and improve are created for people with fewer opportunities, and close attention is paid to marginalised groups.
During the visit, meetings were held with the organisers of activities for the elderly; the guests could visit the classes and educational spaces for senior citizens and test specific interactive tools. The colleagues discussed informal education and its opportunities in Austria and Lithuania, actively observed the ongoing activities, shared good practices, established contacts, and debated on cooperation and joint projects.
The “Kolping Österreich” team gave a warm welcome, showing us the places of study and work, the city, its culture, and places of interest.
