INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE STRESS-FREE SOCIAL WORK: MISSION (IM)POSSIBLE?
On 6 October 2022, the International scientific and practical conference Stress-free social work: Mission (im)possible? took place. The aim of the conference, organised by the KUAS and the Social Care Centre ‘Vija’, was to encourage an open discussion on methods and techniques to reduce tensions in social work practice, share experiences, and cooperate in finding solutions for overcoming the challenges of dealing with aggressive behaviour.
Professionals in social work often face stressful situations where clients’ behaviour can endanger themselves, the social worker, and others. The conference allowed participants to take part in both scientific and practical sessions. Open discussions covered different methods, working practices and personal experiences and looked for solutions to overcome difficult situations. Professional knowledge was also broadened by interacting with expert practitioners and scientists.
We want to thank the moderators, the speakers for their truly relevant topics, the participants for their discussions and active involvement in the activities, the interpreters who helped to overcome language barriers, the KUAS administration, and the students for their help in welcoming and distributing the guests. We sincerely thank the Social Care Centre ‘Vija’ for their cooperation.
