KUAS LECTURERS PARTICIPATE IN ERASMUS+ ADULT EDUCATION TRAINING
On 26–30 June 2022, the lecturers of the Experiential Learning Centre of the KUAS Evelina Darulienė, Vitalija Mikutaitienė, Juozas Stočkus, the Director of the KUAS Assoc. Prof. Dr Ramunė Bagdonaitė-Stelmokienė and the Coordinator of the Experiential Learning Centre Inga Bagdanovė participated in the Erasmus+ Adult Education training organised by Idevelop Training S.L. in Malaga, Spain. The training topic was ‘Lifelong Learning: Elements of Wisdom’; it was moderated by Ana Aurora, a lecturer, pedagogue, psychologist, and psychotherapist.
Participants were offered an exciting and engaging training programme, with each day having a different focus element: earth, water, fire, air, or ether. Depending on the element of the day, the learning methods, situations, activities and tasks were adapted. The lecturer shared her experience on how to develop and awaken the desire to learn in adults, reviewed the strategies of inclusion, talked about alternative, non-traditional, and non-formal learning focused on curiosity, the playful mood, the subtleties of working in a team, and highlighted the impact of personal quality of life and well-being on learning and results.
Not only were the participants introduced to role-playing games in adult learning, but they also tried them out themselves. They reviewed drama and project-based methods (including their advantages and disadvantages) and performed group dynamics and brainstorming tasks. Finally, the participants constantly reflected on and shared their experiences, and learned how to relax and create a comforting and attractive learning environment that encourages adult learners to engage in the activities.
On the last day of the training, a self-assessment took place, including summarising the knowledge gained, discussing the methods used in training, and proposing different strategies to follow up the implementation of good practices in the college, based on the gained knowledge, skills and competencies. Certificates were awarded to participants.
