KUAS students in the social work fields: the second-year students of Child Welfare and Social Security and Social Work Management study programmes broaden their theoretical and practical knowledge in one of their study field subjects – Intercultural Social Work. The programme of this subject is prepared and executed in cooperation with three Indian universities that conduct the social work studies.
During the autumn semester of this year, our students have the unique opportunity to attend remote lectures together with students and lecturers of social work in India. Three universities: Bharathiar University, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Gandhigram Rural Institute, take part in this project. The lectures of intercultural social work subject are given by Lithuanian and Indian lecturers. During the lectures, the social work topics, relevant for both countries, are discussed. The same topic is reviewed and presented not only on theoretical, but also on practical level from the perspective of both countries: Lithuania and India. The remote lectures are attended by 130 students from four institutions of higher education.
