BREAKFAST OF SOCIAL PARTNERS – FORMAT CHANGES, TRADITION REMAINS
Every year, thanking for the sincere cooperation, we had a tradition of inviting the social partners of Kolping University of Applied Sciences to a Breakfast of Social Partners. This year is no exception. We remained true to our idea, but had to adjust the format of the meeting, so on 09 April 2021 we met for the Afternoon of the Social Partners, which we joined using the ZOOM program.
The meeting was attended by: Vytautė Beinorienė (Coordinator of Educational Programs of the Lithuanian Zoo), Andželika Vežbavičiūtė (Head of the Child Rights Protection Division of Kaunas City), Dr. Nerijus Jurkonis (Director of VMU Botanical Garden), Giedrius Jonys (chief social worker of Kaunas Municipality Children’s Care Home).
Director of KUAS, Dr. Ramunė Bagdonaitė- Stelmokienė thanked everyone who have devoted their time for the meeting. The Director informed about the approved KUAS Strategic Action Plan (2021-2023) and the support and assistance of the social partners which is very important and necessary for the implementation of the goals set in it. The Director mentioned that KUAS was preparing for an important external institutional assessment of its activities. It was decided to organize regular meetings with the social partners in preparation for the institutional and external assessment of the field of Tourism and Recreation Studies at KUAS, to discuss and improve the content of the self-assessment.
Discussing issues related to academic activities, the KUAS Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Daiva Beržinskienė-Juozainienė thanked the social partners who participated in the meeting for active and efficient cooperation – in periodically updating study programs, preparing new ones, updating study program content, accepting practice placements, participating in presentations and defences of final practices and final theses, and active participation in international scientific and practical conferences organized by KUAS.
Evelina Darulienė (SWC) and Dr. Rūta Meištė (EBC) discussed current issues and innovations in the study fields of Social Work, Tourism and Recreation, and Business. The social partners shared the realities of their work during this difficult period, new experiences and challenges.
We thank the Social Partners for their time, which we greatly appreciate!
