INTRODUCTORY QUALIFICATION PROGRAM FOR ASSISTANT SOCIAL WORKERS “TRAINING OF ASSISTANT SOCIAL WORKERS FOR WORK WITH CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES AT SOCIAL RISK” STARTS

We are pleased to announce the launch of introductory qualification program for assistant social workers “Training of assistant social workers for work with children and their families at social risk” at Kolping University of Applied Sciences, which aims to provide the knowledge, general and professional skills necessary for assistant social workers to provide social support to children and their families at social risk.
The program is coordinated with the Department of Supervision of Social Services under the Ministry of Social Security and Labour and accredited for five years. Duration of training – 40 academic hours.
The price of training per person is 85 euros. The training will take place online. The training starts in April.
All participants will receive certificates with the code of the accredited program.
The aim of the program is to provide the knowledge, general and professional skills necessary for assistant social workers to provide social support to children and their families at social risk.
Objectives of the program:
To provide theoretical and practical knowledge of the basics of social work.
To provide knowledge about the aspects of social work with children and their families at social risk.
To develop the abilities to provide social services to children and their families at social risk.
Develop communication and collaboration skills working with social work professionals and clients in the organization.
After the training, participants of the program will use the acquired competencies:
providing assistance to a child and family at social risk, working together with other specialists – social worker, health care specialist, psychologist, etc. Acquired knowledge about the process of social work, the roles of social worker will allow to respond appropriately to the needs and provide the necessary social assistance in accordance with the professional values of social work, to act ethically, to build a cooperative relationship. Acquired knowledge about the aspects of social work with children, forms of violence, determinants of violence, as well as signs of neglect will allow assistant social workers to properly identify the need for help, and knowledge of children’s social skills development will help to ensure development of necessary skills. Acquired knowledge of effective communication and cooperation, psychological counselling, conflict situations and their solutions will help assistant social workers to develop and maintain a cooperative relationship with the child and family at social risk, as well as other support professionals, being able to work in a team.
