On 8-10 September 2019, German language teacher of KUAS, Dr. Jūratė Maksvytytė went on a study visit to the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt in Germany.
The aim of the study visit was to get to know and deepen the knowledge of teaching methods, with a special focus on working with students through active teaching methods. The teacher also got acquainted with Kolping’s values and ideas, and expanded her knowledge about Kolping communities.
During the visit, Dr. Maksvytytė visited the premises of the University and got acquainted with the plot of land near the monastery, tended voluntarily by the students. It was once a monastery garden, later monastery abandoned it. The land was rented by the University, and students and teachers may cultivate and look after the plants of their choice on a voluntary basis. The teacher learned that there are about 5000 students at the University, so volunteering is not unusual to them.
