On 17 March 2017, Šiauliai State College hosted the Social Worker Excellence Competition “SO.DA.J.A.M. (Acronym in Lithuanian – Social Worker. Youthful. Active. Mobile)” in which students of Kolping University of Applied Sciences (KUAS) Child Welfare and Social Security program won the First Prize.
The social worker’s professional excellence was demonstrated by representatives of St. Ignatius of Loyola College, Kaunas College, Panevėžys, Klaipėda, Marijampolė, Utena and Šiauliai State Colleges. In the competition, KUAS this year was represented by five first-year Child Welfare and Social Security students.
The excellence contest consisted of three tasks: YOUTHFUL (homework – this was the team’s introduction, revealing the uniqueness of the team); ACTIVE (mobile exercises in the gym); MOBILE (fight of the captains), based on the “I KNOW” game.
We are happy to have the opportunity to participate in the annual event of Lithuanian colleges dedicated to the World Social Work Day. And we are even more happy with the results of the competition and the first place!
The first place won by the first-year students means that next year we will meet again in similar competition in Kaunas, at KUAS!
Ramunė Bagdonaitė-Stelmokienė, head of the Social Welfare Centre and Lecturer Evelina Darulienė, who both helped the team to prepare for the competition, are thankful to the 1st and 2nd year students of the Child Welfare and Social Security program. Thanks to Eglė, Aurelija, Lina, Agnė and the team captain Laura. Thanks to the “fans” Audrius, Kristina, Gabrielė, Airina, Rita, Daumantė and Irma.
You are the best, you are the coolest team!
