KUAS students participated in the scientific-practical conference

On 26 January, Ineta Ladukaitė, 3rd year student of Kolping University of Applied Sciences (KUAS) Child Welfare and Social Security study program, Gerda Gorelčenkaitė, 3rd year student of Social Work Management study program, Evelina Darulienė, Lecturer of Social Welfare Centre, and Veronika Matyushenko and Neringa Pečiulytė-Valuckienė, graduates of KUAS Child Welfare and Social Security study program, participated in nationwide scientific-practical conference, organized by Marijampolė College, “Development of community services in the context of the institutional care reform”.
During the conference, students and graduates shared their theoretical knowledge and practical insights with other participants of the conference in two working groups.
In the first working group, Community services for family and child, KUAS graduate Neringa made a presentation about the Experiences of social workers in the process of taking a child away from the family, and the graduate Veronika spoke about Development of healthy lifestyle skills in children’s day-care centres.
In the fourth working group, where the topic was People with disabilities in the community, student Ineta made a presentation about the Peculiarities of the social worker’s communication with multi-handicapped young people; and student Gerda shared the data of her research about the Experiences of social workers working with persons addicted to alcohol.
