PROJECT “SMART DEVELOPMENT” MEETING OF INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS

On 9-12 September 2021, Lithuanian Kolping Society organised the third project “Smart Development” meeting of international partners (Germany, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Serbia, Lithuania). Lithuanian Kolping Society was represented by Lina Kalibataitė, the national secretary of the Society, Ms Jurgita Dambrauskienė, rapporteur of Education, and lecturer Gintarė Milčė. The topic discussed during the meeting was “Effective Educational Tools Ensuring Sustainable Adult Education”.
On the first day (September 9), the official opening ceremony took place, during which the national secretary Lina Kalibataitė presented, in detail, the activity of Lithuanian Kolping Society and its projects. Moreover, Dr. Ramunė Bagdonaitė – Stelmokienė, the director of KUAS, presented KUAS study programmes and values that are the basis of University’s work. The second day (September 10) was dedicated to the theoretical knowledge and practical skills, therefore, on the first half of the day, the participants attended the lecture on “Communality – a Solution for Global Issues” by lecturer Ms Skaisgirytė and completed the practical tasks. The second half of the day was dedicated to the trip to Žiegždriai Geological Trail with a nature guide Mr Daubaras. During the trip, the participants received more knowledge on the ways they can contribute to the improvement of ecological life and increase the protection of the environment.
The third day (September 11) was dedicated to the viewing of the film “The Ancient Woods” (lit. Sengirė) and the group discussion moderated by lecturer Ms Urbaitė – Būdelienė. The participants were actively discussing the problems of deforestation and the possible ways of preserving the forests. During the second half of the day, the participants went to Dubrava Reserve Area together with nature guide Mr Būdelis, where they further analysed ecological problems.
During the closing ceremony, the participants conducted self-evaluation and shared their acquired knowledge.
