The final focus of Kolping Week is the International Applied Research Conference “Challenges and Social Responsibility in Business”

The International Applied Research Conference “Challenges and Social Responsibility in Business” on 24 of March was the conclusion of a traditional annual Kolping Week. During this week various events and seminars were held for the Kolping society and the general public.
The presentations were delivered in the plenary session of the Conference by Raimund Gruendler, Kolping-Bildungswerk Württemberg, Head of the Kolping University of Applied Sciences Academic Council, Jaq Greenspon, Professor at Vytautas Magnus University and Rūta Jasienė, Director of the Private Limited Company “Saugaus darbo garantas”.
During the second part of the Conference the guests from Lithuanian and foreign higher education institutions and the students of Kolping University of Applied Sciences heard the reports and joined in discussions in two sessions. In the first session, Dr Vida Lukamskienė and Lina Kamarauskiene presented on “Kaimo bendruomenės tarybos narių įsipareigojimas bendruomenės vystymui “; Dr., associate professor Vilma Staskevičienė delivered the report “Socialinių darbuotojų psichologinės gerovės kaip organizacijos socialinės atsakomybės raiška“; Vitalija Vanagienė presented on “Žaliųjų ženklų vertė verslui“; Živilė Tamošauskaitė made the presentation “Socialinės atsakomybės paskatos pelno ir ne pelno organizacijose“; Dr., associate professor Aurelija Kustienė delivered the report “Informacijos asimetriškumo mažinimas versle“.
In the second session, four presentations were delivered, the first by Prof. Hermann Knoedler “Corporate social responsibility, mark-up pricing and art galleries: theoretical approach and empirical findings from knoedler gallery (new york) in the 1950s”; the second by Jana Dluhošová “Social exclusion-experience from the Czech republic and Spain”; Dr A. Šuliakaitė made the report “Promoting self-responsibility for at- risk youth and their families“; and finally, Prof. Hermann Knoedler presented on “Social Business: Current Challenges in Germany”.
The Conference concluded with a traditional award of more than 30 Founder’s Scholarships. The founder’s scholarships in a lump-sum have been awarded by the Kolping fund for Lithuania Draugų ratas for the sixth consecutive years. The scholarships have been given for the students of high academic achievement and for their active participation in the activities of the Kolping University of Applied Sciences community. Social scholarships have also been awarded.
