Objective of the Transport logistics study programme is to train specialists in transport logistics, who are able to plan, prepare, organize and coordinate efficient warehousing and distribution processes of international freight transportation, and customer service in accordance with national and international legislation regulating transport and logistics activities, professional ethics and social responsibility principles; who are constantly improving and able to operate independently in changing business conditions.

Upon completion of this programme students are awarded the professional bachelor of Business Management.

Transport Logistics is a study programme for individuals seeking to work in logistics companies providing transport, transportation, logistics, warehousing services. Transport Logistics is a study program during which the acquired competencies will enable graduates of this study program to work as a transport logistics specialist/manager, import and export specialist/manager, supply chain and logistics specialist/manager, transport, logistics warehouse specialist/manager, transport and distribution manager. After gaining experience and additional competencies, graduates will be able to pursue a professional career and work as a project manager in a logistics department or logistics company, in addition, they will be able to start their own business.


PRACTICE DESCRIPTION

By studying in the Transport Logistics programme, students gain a wide range of theoretical and practical knowledge. During the studies, five different internships are performed, during which as many as 90% of students are invited to stay to work! The first practice is cognitive. During the internship, they get acquainted with transport logistics companies, the activities of specialists working in them, learn to practically analyze and describe products and services, assess the economic environment of the company and determine its impact on the company’s activities. The second practice is an entrepreneurship education practice, in which students learn to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in the internship (company), get acquainted with the activities and processes of the transport logistics company, learn to assess the company’s internal and external environments, organizational climate, analyze internal conflict situations and assess the company’s competitive advantage. The third is the practice of developing logistics skills. During it, students apply the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills in a logistics company, analyze the logistics company’s activities, perform marketing, product and risk analysis, review the company’s management structure and personnel functions, and assess and forecast the company’s financial resources. The fourth practice is of logistics processes in a business enterprise. Students choose a company and perform individual practice in it, working on the assigned work, analyze the company’s activities, solve various situations and make decisions. Finally – during the final practice, students consolidate and apply the theoretical knowledge and skills acquired in practice, analyze the activities of a logistics company, acquire practical skills to solve problems, providing specific suggestions for improvement.

When choosing to study Transport Logistics, students often discover their true vocation – working in transport logistics companies providing transport, transportation, logistics, warehousing services or building their own business in the field of transport logistics.

General subjects – two foreign languages, Philosophy, Language Culture, Christian Social Teaching.

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Knowledge and ability to apply general theoretical knowledge of economics, management, finance, accounting, information management, to apply principles of business creation and development, taking into account the special aspects of the transport sector.
  • Understanding of transport sector infrastructure and logistics processes, logistics chains of passenger and freight flow, transportation technological processes.
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate the logistics business environment, market trends, carry out the analysis of cargo/passenger flows and to apply results of the analysis in the implementation of transport logistics activities, ensuring their quality and control.
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate the problems of cargo warehousing and storage by applying transport information systems in planning the efficient operation of vehicles.
  • Ability to plan, organize and operate supply chain and logistics activities in managing international processes of freight/passenger transportation, using modern technologies and following international requirements which regulate freight/passenger carriage in various modes of transport, being guided by the professional ethics.
  • Ability to perform logistic functions in analysing logistics networks and systems, applying marketing principles in the national and international market.
  • Students will acquire the necessary learning and practical skills to continue studies, will be able to evaluate constructively and critically their own professional activities, reflect on their professional development.
  • Ability to use modern information technologies, work in a team, communicate with clients, colleagues and partners, cooperate with representatives of their field and other professions in Lithuanian and foreign languages, choosing appropriate forms of intercultural communication.
