Discussion “Vocational Training 4.0 – Is Kaunas Ready for It?” was held
On 20 September 2019, in KUAS, discussion on the topic “Vocational Training 4.0 – Is Kaunas Ready for It?” took place in collaboration with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation office in Lithuania and the German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce.
The discussion was started and the commencement speeches were given by Lina Kalibataitė, National Secretary of the Kolping Society of Lithuania and Augustina Zamuškevičiutė, representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Lithuania. Paulius Čepas, Director of Kaunas Technical Vocational Training Centre, Raimundas Balčiūnaitis, Expert of Business and Environment Department, Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists (LPK), and Ramunė Bagdonaitė-Stelmokienė, Director of Kolping University of Applied Sciences, took active part in the discussion. The employers’ side was represented by Dr. Regina Navickienė. Students from KUAS, who are also interested in vocational training, were actively involved in the discussion, and graduates from vocational studies willingly shared their experiences.
The discussion was moderated by Josef Tschöp, Head of Vocational Training department of German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce.
During the discussion, opportunities for apprenticeship in Lithuania were discussed, and guests from Germany shared their good practices regarding vocational training. Students shared the importance of vocational training for young people seeking to establish themselves in the labour market.
