{"id":2506,"date":"2017-10-05T12:40:42","date_gmt":"2017-10-05T12:40:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kolpingokolegija.lt\/en\/?p=2506"},"modified":"2017-10-26T12:42:16","modified_gmt":"2017-10-26T12:42:16","slug":"international-symposium-on-social-work-has-gathered-researchers-from-around-the-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kolpingokolegija.lt\/en\/2017\/10\/05\/international-symposium-on-social-work-has-gathered-researchers-from-around-the-world\/","title":{"rendered":"International symposium on social work has gathered researchers from around the world"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>On 5 October 2017, Kolping University of Applied Sciences (KUAS) hosted an international symposium \u201cCHALLENGES OF SOCIAL INCLUSION: THE INTERCULTURAL SOCIAL WORK PERSPECTIVE\u201d, which brought together researchers from India, Costa Rica, Colombia, Latvia, Germany and Lithuania to share their experiences and insights on social work.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The purpose of the symposium was to bring together researchers, scholars and practitioners from various fields to discuss the challenges of social inclusion in the context of intercultural social work; to present the results of research relevant to the topic of the conference, share insights, experiences and innovative ideas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Participants of the international symposium were welcomed by the adviser to the Mayor of Kaunas City Municipality on social issues, education and cooperation with non-governmental organizations, Irena Segalovi\u010dien\u0117.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the <strong>Plenary meeting<\/strong> presentations were made by:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the <strong>First working group<\/strong> (in Lithuanian) \u201cChallenges of Social Inclusion social work practice\u201d, which was moderated by Prof. Dr. Nijol\u0117 Ve\u010dkien\u0117, presentations were made by: Dr. Ramun\u0117 Jurkuvien\u0117\u00a0(Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Marijampol\u0117 College) \u201cSocial Worker in Lithuania: Between Exclusion and Inclusion\u201d, Dr. Vilma \u0160liu\u017eait\u0117 (St. Ignatius of Loyola College) \u201cImportance of Social Worker\u2019s Spiritual Development in Achieving Effective Interaction with a Customer in Providing Assistance\u201d, Neringa Pe\u010diulyt\u0117-Valuckien\u0117 (Jonava District Social Services Centre) \u201cChild Removal from the Family: Experiences of Social Workers\u201d and Salom\u0117ja Karasevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117 (Marijampol\u0117 College) \u201cIntercultural Experience in Volunteering\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the <strong>Second working group<\/strong> (in English) \u201cChallenges of Multiculturalism in the Context of Social Exclusion\u201d, which was moderated by Valters Dolacis, presentations were made by:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kolpingokolegija.lt\/galerija\/\">You can find the photo gallery here. <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 5 October 2017, Kolping University of Applied Sciences (KUAS) hosted an international symposium \u201cCHALLENGES OF SOCIAL INCLUSION: THE INTERCULTURAL SOCIAL WORK PERSPECTIVE\u201d, which brought together researchers from India, Costa Rica, Colombia, Latvia, Germany and Lithuania to share their experiences and insights on social work.
